it's the 7th anniversary of the tragic 911 attacks. but no, i'm not here to say anything about terrorism. ok maybe yes, but i mean it in a very different way.
i suppose this is the most drama anyone can expect from the whole process of taking an exam to getting your results by post. i highly doubt that anything like that has happened to anyone i know. i win hands down.
why do i say most drama?
because.
MY SCRIPT GOT FUCKING LOST, THAT'S WHY.
so basically, subject: xxxxxxx result: script fucking lost
well. without the expletive lah.
apparently it got lost during the courier delivery. and it never reached the examiner. so my script left my hands in the exam hall at expo, into those of an amateur-looking invigilator, counted and sorted, packed into packages of 50 scripts each, ready for delivery. Only never to be seen again by human eyes. Rahhh.
of thousands of packages to be sent, the one my script was in got lost. what are the odds man!!! what happened to my answers was so fucking rare that i told my mom to go buy 4D or Toto or what-have-yous at Singapore Pools. and i assured her i wouldn't nag at her for throwing money at the govt.
i don't see how a big fat package of answer booklets can be left lying around without being noticed. so my theory is, the pilot or the ship captain decided that the tank was low on fuel, so they resorted to old fashioned burning of resources. and after throwing whatever they could find into the tank or boiler room or whatever they call it in the planes and ships these days (obviously i suck at naming machine parts), he thought it wasn't enough, and said: "hey, paper burns really well. we should try some of that."
and voila, the package went in and the crew sang: BURN, baby BURN! according to the tune of Disco Inferno.
so anyways. i've got 2 options. since it was in no way my fault whatsoever, the school gave me an option to take the missing mark as if i had an exemption, or to re-sit.
there are further details pertaining to the exemption option, but it's a bit hard to explain here. anyone wants to know the full story, ask me in person! if i'm too lazy to type on blogger, you might as well not try on msn. hahaha. all i'm saying here is, this was all a blessing in extremely good disguise.
you guys should have seen the horror on my face when i read the letter and saw the "LOST SCRIPT" and "RE-SIT" words. i had my hand on my forehead and was just muttering gibberish to the furniture. i think all that came out was: "OMG. WHAT THE." i couldn't even bring myself to say the f-word man.
so people, 911 7 years on. luck reversing itself? haha it's just superstitious crap but after what happened today, wow. anything is possible. so this is a date you should remember for a non-osama reason. it is the day Val got terrorised by a letter.
"Your script was one in a package of fifty........ Most unfortunately, this package has gone missing....... there is no realistic chance of the courier finding it....... incident like this is extremely rare."
HAHAHAHAHA. tell me bout it.
this could be the funniest letter i've ever received. or will ever receive.
